Tall Pines Horse Show Circuit

Point System

Exhibitors must be a Member to acquire points.  Points begin to accumulate

at the first show where you are a member.  So join sooner rather than later!
1
st = 6 points

2nd =5 points

3rd = 4 points

4th = 3 points

5th = 2 points

6th = 1 point


Open Ring Class Descriptions

Age of Exhibitor as of January 1st determines eligibility for the year.

Halter Geldings/Stallion: Must be aged 2 years & up.

Halter Mares: Must be aged 2 years & up.

Youth Showmanship: Exhibitor must be aged 18 or younger. Pattern will be posted.

Adult Showmanship: Exhibitor must be aged 19 or older. Pattern will be posted.

Tot Leadline: Can show English or Western. Exhibitor must be 6yrs or Under. May not enter any other under saddle classes, halter OK

Walk Only: Can show English or Western. Exhibitors must be 10yrs or under. May not enter any other under saddle classes, halter OK

Hunter Under Saddle (HUS): Hunt attire required, forward or balanced seat saddles only.

Open classes: Open to all riders regardless of age. Riders can cross/enter in Open only.

Beginner: Riders in their first year of showing, regardless of age.

Walk/Trot/Jog only.

1st Year Green: Open to all horses in their 1st year of showing. Horses may be shown in a snaffle 2-handed

regardless of age. This applies to green horses only.

12 & Under: Riders aged 12 & Under.

Novice: Riders of any age in their first year of showing at the canter or lope.

Non-Stock: All breeds EXCEPT Quarter horses, Appaloosas, Paints, POAs.

Riders of all ages can show in this division.

Saddle Seat: Formal Saddle Seat attire is required; no hunt attire. English Type Saddle; no forward seat or dressage seat saddles allowed. No martingales or tie-downs.

Youth: Riders aged 18 & under.

Adult: Riders aged 19 & older.

Stock Horse: Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Paints, POA. Riders of all ages can show in this division.

Gaited Horse: Open to all Non-Trotting horses. Riders of all ages can show in this division.

Western Horses Over the age of 5 must be shown in a shank bit, curb chain or leather strap may be used. Does not apply to green horses.


Hunter Ring Class Descriptions

Cross Rails Hunter: Fences 18" - Open to junior and amateur riders in their first or second year of showing over cross rails. Riders may not jump higher than 18" at this show.

Cross Rails Equitation: Fences 18" - Open to any rider eligible to compete in the Cross Rails Hunter.

Walk-Trot: Open to junior and amateur riders that have never shown at the canter. Riders may not cross-enter into any cantering or jumping divisions in the Hunter Ring.

Walk-Trot-Canter: Open to junior or amateur riders in their first year of showing at the canter at any Hunter show. Riders may cross-enter into the Cross Rails division. They may not jump higher than Cross Rails at this show.

Short/Long Stirrup Hunter: Fences 2’ - Open to junior and amateur riders in their first or second year of showing over fences higher than cross rails. Riders may not jump higher than 2’ at this show.

Short/Long Stirrup Equitation: Fences 2’ - Open to any rider eligible to compete in the Short/Long Stirrup Hunter.

Tall Pines Tack Shop Medal: Fences 2’ - Open to junior and amateur members of the TPHSC showing in 2’ or higher divisions. The top ten riders at the end of the year will qualify for the medal finals. Once a rider has won the finals three times, they are no longer eligible to compete.

Low Hunter: Fences 2’3 - Open to all horses and ponies with no restrictions on previous showing.

Schooling Hunter: Fences 2’6 - Open to all horses and ponies with no restrictions on previous showing.

Standing martingales will be allowed over fences, not on the flat.

Courses will be posted at the in gate.
